Haiti Project

The Regis College Haiti Project provides advanced education to Haiti nursing faculty to improve the quality of nursing and nursing education in Haiti.  The project was conceived and launched in 2007-2008.  The January 2010 earthquake necessarily focused the world on immediate response to severe destruction, and Regis remains committed to reaching out to Haiti.  The Regis Haiti Project builds constructive pathways to train Haitian nursing faculty and nurses and contributes directly to the present and the future of that country. We can’t delay training the trainers.  In June, 2010, six months after the earthquake,  Regis College President Mary Jane England and Dean Toni Hays, Regis College School of Nursing, Science, and Health Professions, will be visiting Haiti to re-establish the necessary channels to educate nursing faculty both in Haiti and on the Regis campus. The Regis College Haiti Project aims to help Haitians address fundamental issues of poor infrastructure and routine lack of medical care with a longer term and self-sustainable plan.  It also responds to an urgent need and needs your support.
